Jay Schoenberger
Principal & Co-Founder
Jay has been involved in the development of clean energy projects since 2005, including both wind, solar, and battery storage. To date, he has participated in the development of 2,400 MW of operating and in-construction projects. Jay has deep experience in all facets of large-scale clean energy development including site origination, land acquisition, power marketing, environmental permitting, interconnection, project acquisition and sales. Jay's development experience spans numerous US power markets including ERCOT, SPP, PJM, MISO, NYISO, NE-ISO, WECC, and SERC.
Prior to co-founding Dakota Power Partners, Jay served as Vice President of investments at MAP where he managed multiple investments in portfolios of clean energy assets under development across the United States. Previously, Jay served as Senior Manager, Business Development at Invenergy LLC, the largest independent wind power developer in the US. During his time with Invenergy, Jay originated and developed wind power projects in New York, Pennsylvania, and Ohio, including more than 375 MW in operation and under construction. Prior to Invenergy, Jay began his career developing solar across the state of New Jersey with REC Solar.
Jay earned a BA from Vanderbilt University and holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Tim Daniels
Principal & Co-Founder
Tim has been involved in the power generation industry since 2000. To date, he has participated in the development of more than 328 MW of operating and in-construction projects. Tim has managed all components of large-scale clean energy development with a particular emphasis and expertise in site identification, power marketing, interconnection, and regulatory policy.
Prior to co-founding Dakota Power Partners, Tim co-founded Adger Solar where he spearheaded the creation of Adger’s 2,000 MW portfolio of utility-scale solar in South Carolina. Tim managed development and led power marketing efforts for South Carolina's first large-scale solar project: the 71 MWac Solvay Solar Energy project located in Jasper County, SC which commenced operations in late 2017. Prior to starting Adger Solar, Tim held senior positions in federal and local government, and in the private sector with both early-stage alternative energy technology development companies and larger established firms. Tim served as Senior Vice President of Market Development for Deepwater Wind, LLC, for three years. In addition to managing many aspects of external affairs for the company, he oversaw development activities in the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut markets for Deepwater's 3,000 MW of proposed offshore wind projects in federal waters and two HVDC, multi-terminal submarine transmission networks. Prior to joining Deepwater Wind, Tim served as Vice President of Energy Policy for Constellation Energy, Inc.
Tim earned a BA in Political Science from Emory University and a MS in Environmental Science and Policy from Johns Hopkins University.
David Capparelli
Principal
David has been involved in the energy industry since 1990, with experience in project development, business development, power plant design, power plant construction, sales and marketing. He is a veteran to renewables, experiencing and playing a part of its growth since its infancy. Since the start of his career, he has contributed to the construction and transaction of over 2,300 MW of renewable energy and gas-fired electrical generation projects and wind turbine sales representing $2.5B.
Prior to Dakota Power Partners, David was a principal at Adger Solar, where he focused on the commercial, technical and project management aspects of the venture. Prior to his work at Adger Solar, David was VP of Sales, Business Development & Marketing for Suzlon Wind Energy Corporation’s North American operations and President of SURE Power, LLC (Suzlon’s North American development company). David has also held prior positions including Development Director at RES North America, Project Manager at FPLE Energy, Manager of European Projects at Kamine International, and Project Engineer at Ansaldo North America.
David holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland and is a licensed Professional Engineer.
